Steve's nose has been running for a few days here, but it seemed like maybe a change of season or something. Until yesterday, when it became obvious he had a problem. He didn't sleep, he was taking medicine, and his head just was full of it. This isn't the best way to feel when flying, a snoot full of snot as it were. So he stayed in the back of the plane on the way home, trying to relax. Kaylee sat up front with me, and then when we were about 45 minutes away from home, we hit some pretty rough turbulence. It tossed us all to the roof. Steve hit his head, hard, I hit mine lightly, the heavy antenna and some bags went flying up into the air, and it was really rough up there on top of a cloud layer. So I requested lower, and down there it was still light with occasional moderate turbulence, but it was better. I tried to descend 200-300 fpm to help with his head, but I don't know if it did. About 30 minutes out Kaylee says "Mommy, I don't feel so good." Her head was hurting, and stomach too. I got out a sick sack for her but she said she didn't feel "throw-up bad". Then Steve says "I don't feel so great either." Also not a stomach thing, but what a day to feel bad--when you're getting tossed around constantly. Two sick passengers and nothing you can do about it...
We ended up going through some snow showers too. Kaylee thought that was sort of interesting, seeing what snow looked like from the air. I tried to take a few pictures, but the cell phone camera gets the prop in there and kind of makes it hard to see.

Coming in to land we had a nice little breeze going. A little crosswind at 25 gusting 34 knots. That one made me work for it--not the wind itself, but the gusts. I put it gently down on the left main wheel, the wind blew it up, I put it back down on that wheel...a few times before I could settle it in. It was just a fun sporty little landing. I was waiting for Mr. Goldseal's commentary back there, but he must still be feeling bad, because all he said was "Nice landing" or "Nice job on the landing", something like that. Somebody record that? ;)
Kaylee has recuperated, Steve is dozing and trying to feel better, unsuccessfully by the look of him right now, and I'm just getting ready for tomorrow. Guess where I'm going tomorrow? St. Louis, of course!
