Happy Halloween!

I was to leave the house at 7 a.m. to go on a flight to Missouri. I got the call at 7 a.m. as I was leaving the house, that the flight was cancelled. So, instead I flew with my 9:30 student until lunch, then did some catching up on a few things that needed caught up on.

I got Kaylee from the bus stop at 3:45, ran her home, threw her into her Halloween outfit, she ran next door to show off to Grandma & Grandpa, and then we drove quickly down to Noblesville to join Maggie and Hannah for trick-or-treating. Maggie was a royal princess, Hannah was a homemade R2D2 with sound included, which won costume of the night award everywhere we went, and Kaylee was Clawdeen the Wolf Girl from a TV show called "Monster High". The only disappointment for her for the night was that I couldn't get her wolf teeth to stick to her real teeth. The paste that was supposed to gel and glue them to her teeth would *not* stick, so I tried tacky stuff, and that didn't work either, so she pouted fiercely long enough to make me angry and then got over it because she had these long glittery purple fake eyelashes to wear that she liked a lot too. ;)

Kaylee really really really wanted to trick-or-treat on our street too. She said she was afraid that if she didn't support our street, people here would quit offering candy. She said "Plus they know me and it costs money for them to do candy and decorations and I want to go to their houses. HURRY!" So I drove home as fast as I could, and we pulled onto our street at 7:58. Trick-or-treating ended at 8. Only two houses were still lit up, and she ran over to them. She said they both said "You're the last trick-or-treater of the night!" and gave her a ton of candy. She came away with pounds and pounds of loot, and she was happy to get to support our street too, even if just a little. :)

One of the houses in Noblesville gave away entire packages of Oreo double-stuffed cookies. I mean, store size, big ones. We think the guys must work for Nabisco or something, but they win coolest Halloween hand-outs of the year. Another house gave giant-sized candy bars, and others full-sized candy bars. Now THOSE people know how to give out loot!

I put up a bunch of pictures up on Kaylee's site. If you need the password, email me. :)
