Thirteen

So this morning I woke up as the would-be parent of a 13-year old. A teenager! That is SUCH a strange thought, the disconnect between what would be and what is. Anyway, thinking of Devon today on his birthday, and thank you again to our family and friends for the love and support. We are blessed. :)

This morning Steve and his student dropped me off at Mt. Comfort airport, where I picked up the T-6 and Trey, and we did a photo shoot of Duane in the Tom Wood Mustang. It was a little bumpy out there today, but we got it done and it looks like Trey got some great photos. The trickiest part is in the pattern. I start flying off of him instead of him off of me, and he's dropping gear and flaps and turning slow and getting low in the pattern, while you're trying to stay right in position and come on down with him without actually landing, and while paying attention to where you're going since you're not lined up with the runway-he is. So you've got some buildings, trees, stuff in front of you to watch out for, along with your airspeed. That can be more of a handful than it may sound like, but it's rewarding when it comes together.

I was tired from the moment I got up today, enough so that after my lesson in the afternoon, I came home and went to sleep for awhile. Not like I don't have enough to do, or am not behind on important things, things I should be doing now instead of this, in fact, but I was so fuzzy I just had to. Jon mentioned a let-down after a show is over, and that's true too...

I'm still so tired I can't figure out a good way to end the blog post. How about with a yawn.

*yawn*
