Recap

Monday was spent on two student flights; I wasn't done until about 5 p.m. It always takes a little longer when you have to go to three different airports that are all a good distance away. :)

I put up the photos that a back seat passenger from another plane took (and a few I took on the ground) of the Bonanza Formation Clinic this weekend. It was the first formation flight I'd done in something like 8 months, and while I was finding myself fighting it the whole time on the first two flights, I was glad to at least stay close enough to where I was supposed to be to make them happy with it, with the always helpful critiques, ideas, and tips.

Another story I remembered a bit later; Saturday evening after the flying was over, we were all sitting around, and the coordinator of the event was telling our guys sitting around that I'd had a good day, but that I'd gotten so close he almost got on the radio and asked me to back off. People started snickering and commenting on what a shock that was. He told me if I'd been bobbling around or anything, he would have told me to back it off, but I wasn't, so he didn't. Thing is, I'm used to Nathan, and, well, I am just really used to looking at airplanes up close and personal. ;) But also, because I've ridden with him enough times, I also know how smooth I hope to be one of these days. :)

The last flight of Saturday was the most fun, with the other Baron, doing an element landing that went well and a fly-by of the airport. The last flight of Sunday was the most relaxed. I was actually able to work on syncing the props (without looking down, don't worry formation folks), I was just able to relax a little and feel more comfortable and enjoy the flight more. Here is one from our first flight of the first day, when I had Richard with me as a safety pilot.
