Eagles

After pawning my all-day tailwheel endorsement student off onto Ty and getting Kaylee ready for school, I spent the morning sleeping again. I'm bound and determined to sleep this thing off, and finally it seems to be working. Somewhere this afternoon I turned a corner and at least was able to get up and out and about. A little medicine helped. :) I waited until it was time to get Kaylee from school, grabbed her and her Awanas stuff, and went out to Kokomo where I was supposed to be hosting two Girl Scout troops for Young Eagles rides. I got Steve to do the talking, and three volunteers did the flying, and about 2 1/2 hours later all 15 kids and a couple moms got their rides in, their certificates in hand, and were on their way content.

The tailwheel guy finished his endorsement today, a student went on her First Solo today, and 15 young ladies got to go on their first airplane rides. I didn't get to do any of the flying, with that whole being sick and medicated thing, but I would still call that a successful day in General Aviation. :)

Meanwhile, Kaylee needed to say eleven sections at Awanas in order to qualify for a sleepover the beginning of May. She only had two weeks to do it. She got them all done in one night. When she wants to accomplish something, she can. It's getting her to want to accomplish it that is the challenge! She did well, and was very excited--she's wanted to do this sleepover since she first heard about it.

Here are some of the kids this afternoon at the airport. It was such a beautiful day to fly...
