And the snow fell down...
School was not delayed today, which really irritated Kaylee when I went to wake her up this morning. Of course it irritated me, too, considering I'd woken up at 3 a.m. and was awake the rest of the night. I didn't really get sleepy until about 6:45 a.m., at which point it was close to starting the day time. Fortunately the weather precluded any flying anyway.
Steve woke up feeling a little better, did a little work from home, and then crashed again this evening with the chills, joint aches, fever, headache.
I was working on something when I got an email in stating that Kaylee's school was going to be let out early, at 1 p.m. This was sent through at 12:33 p.m. You know, some folks work, or aren't by a TV or computer all day. I saw it, but I had 15 minutes to get ready to head out the door to get her. Mmmm.
The roads weren't too bad for normal cars, but I quickly went around a sports car that kept fishtailing in front of me, and once I was sitting at a stoplight when a glance in my rearview mirror showed a red pickup truck at a 45 degree angle to the road sliding right towards me. He slid himself off the road and into a gas station parking lot prior to hitting anybody. But yikes. Kaylee and I were laughing watching a police car right in front of us who kept gunning it and sliding around on purpose. The Jeep, again, did just fine.
I went out and got "The A-Team" from Redbox today. The only problem is, like with other remakes, if you really spent a lot of time with the weekly TV show, then it's hard to get into new characters. Nobody beats the real Hannibal Smith, or Murdoch either. Face didn't do bad though. Anyway, it had its moments and it was a nice blast from the past. Now they just need to do Airwolf. ;)
Chuck brought over the new "Warbird Digest" magazine. In it was a giant picture of Nathan in the Mustang, up close and personal, and it was one of the photos taken up at Oshkosh on that photo shoot. We haven't seen any of those photos yet, so that was kind of cool to see that one. There was also an article in there about the gents from "Ain't Misbehavin'", the P-51 from Alabama that I got to do the photo shoot with down at Indianapolis Exec airport. There were lots of pictures in the article, and I thought it was pretty neat to see more of the pics taken, in print. I even got my name in there twice on sidebars under photos. One says "Here pilot Wes Stowers tucks in tight with the photo plane, a T-6 owned by Nathan Davis and flown by Laura Stants." The second one says "Wes Stowers and Jesse Frey allow a few more photos before peeling away from the photo plane piloted by Laura Stants, to enjoy some ad-lib flying over the Indiana countryside." It was a great article about the pilot and crew chief, their history, and the guys who brought the plane to them...
