Winter Hits December 1st

Do you know what this is? This is depressing, that's what this is. The ground and the sky are all the same color of wet, dirty concrete, there's nowhere to look for warmth or color, and the wind is blowing little pellets of ice into your face. At least we made it to December 1st! Time for hot chocolate with candy cane stir sticks, cool whip, warm sweaters, and getting cozy. :)

Today I'm driving around on this first day of flurries, where the road is just a hint of slick, and there's a Jeep in front of me, with decals on all four corners of the back windows, and a big one at the top center. They said things like "Bad *** girls drive bad *** toys"
and "Can't stop a girl in a Jeep", several more with expletives, and the big one front and center said "You've just been passed...by a girl". Problem was, this girl was driving like a limping turtle on the lightly dusted road. As I drove past her in my Jeep, I wanted to stick a sign in my window that said something like "No, YOU'VE just been passed...by a woman." ;)

Kaylee had Secret Santa Workshop today, where I gave her some money and she went shopping for immediate family members. The items are donated to the school, they charge $1-$4 for everything there, and the kids get to pick out what they want, buy it, wrap it, and the money goes as a fundraiser for the school. Kaylee Loves doing it, she's done it the last 3 years now, and she really really likes having a way to go shop, somewhere limited and specific, where nobody but her "elf" helper gets to see what she's picking for people. She usually does a nice job of it, too. She came home with a paper bag full of gifts for loved ones and a big smile. That's Christmas there...
