Airport. The sun rose behind us, and we flew along on top of a cloud layer with the colors of the sunrise reflecting off the tops of the clouds. Then it was time to come on in for a landing, down through the clouds on a nice ILS approach, breaking out at 500'. It's always a nice sight to see the runway lights beaming ahead of you when you break out of the clouds. The rest of the day wasn't quite as planned. We were told it would be a 2-4 hour ground wait, and it ended up being a 10.5 hour ground wait. I had a copilot along who did all the work for me, ;), and we went into town twice to eat and drive around, and the rest of the time we played on the iPad, I worked on figuring out my new Droid phone, which I like a lot, might I add, watching TV, and I had a book to read too. I ended up filing flight plans every two hours for that 10.5 hour wait so that I could be ready at any moment. We came to Quad Cities in the dark, and we left in the dark. We had a cloud layer to climb through, then spent the rest of the flight on top of the cloud deck with a large moon on top of us. The clouds magically disappeared just a few miles out from Kokomo, and one night landing later, we were home.
It was a bit of a long day, and not quite what I had planned, and I'm a little tired, but on the good news front, I had plenty of time to figure out my Droid, which, did I mention that I like yet, I got to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, where I had a great chicken sandwich, I got to hang out awhile with a friend, got to read half of a new Patterson book, and had a safe, revenue flight. It works...
