Home Sweet Home

It wasn't the most restful night of sleep I've ever had, and when I got up at 7 this morning I felt like a big puffy baggy-eyed draggy person. I pulled up the weather on my iPad and saw low-ish IFR back at Kokomo, filed my flight plan, and met another friend, Zazas, for breakfast along with the H family and me. It was good to catch up with another friend before heading back to Kokomo. :) It was clear coming out of Maxton. A bit later a pretty cloud layer moved in underneath us and followed us the rest of the way home. It was clear blue sky above, bright sunshine, and a pretty layer of white clouds below. See?
It was finally time to descend, and I entered the pretty white clouds, which slowly turned gray, and when we broke out of them, below it was windy, gusty, gray, dreary, and very blah. I'd had the sun beaming in on my side of the window for almost 3 hours, so at least I had enough Vitamin D for the day, because it sure wasn't happening down here!

I came home to a big surprise. Kaylee and Steve had spent the weekend on her room, and it was amazing! She cleared out all the toys she has outgrown, clothes she has outgrown, she has bags and bags and bags of things on the deck ready to be given away in some cases and thrown away in others. They worked their hineys off, and rearranged her room, and it looks awesome! We still have a lot of work to do in sorting and collating and distributing all this stuff, but I was really impressed and pleased, both that it's done and that she did it so willingly and without complaining or dragging her feet. That was/is a huge job, and they did great.

Kaylee also told us tonight that the turkey we made into a pilot to hide him from Thanksgiving dinner was one of two turkeys selected by the teacher to go into "the paper" as a winner. I don't know which paper, or winner of what exactly, but our Captain Turkey won something and will get into some paper, so hey! Steve did a lot of work on Captain Turkey. :)

I'm supposed to hit the ground running tomorrow with a lesson from 9-11, then 1-3, then 4-6. The forecast is calling for turbulence below 4000' and winds gusting up to 35 knots. Great...
