Steve is almost finished up with his logbook, catching it up to date after more than a year. He's about to break 10,000 hours, last I heard. Me, I caught up my logbook last night too, and I am exactly three hours shy of breaking 6,000 hours. I'm never going to catch him, unless he quits flying for the next 10 years. :P
On strange things for the day, I ran over a chicken. Poor little bugger ran right in front of my Jeep and *poof*, a whole lot of orange/red feathers went flying everywhere. You never know what you'll find on the back roads of central Indiana. I know it's inappropriate, but I did keep thinking about stopping at KFC for dinner after that...
This is one of the photos Trey took-I'm so glad he took it. I put it and a few more up on my site. These were the four of us who went on the photo shoot. Funnily, the four of us should be fairly distinguishable. Me, the girl, check. WWII veteran in his 80s wearing a Fighter Group hat, check. Younger pilot of the P-51 in a flight suit, check. That leaves the guy on the right to be the photographer. Another great memory. Thanks to Steve for helping me work it out on an already nutso day for him so I could go do this, who in fact always supports me, and thanks to Nathan, who, well, let me check out in and fly his airplane, lets me practice not running into him in formation with no visible fear (as does Steve), and has made some pretty special things possible...
