Anyway, I digress. We woke up this morning to gray skies and rain, which was both good and bad. Good because this was the driest August in something like 13 years, and the land needed the rain. Bad because it was the morning of what was to be a pretty good-sized fly-in breakfast at Indian Hills, merging the usual fly-in with our EAA chapter meeting breakfast plus adding in Logansport's EAA chapter breakfast too. Due to the weather, none of the Logansport fellows made it over and it was a more quiet event, even for us. There's food and a fire the night before that we were just too tired to go do, there was breakfast again Sunday morning which I was too tired to go do. I guess I needed that 2 1/2 hour nap I took tonight. :O
After leaving Indian Hills, we ran home to change clothes and get ready for Tre's son's wedding. It was held in an historic round barn, and the clouds and rain went away just in time for a nice ceremony and celebration. Kaylee was pretty enthralled with the entire process. The wedding, the beautiful bride in a classic gown, the ceremony, the dancing, the traditions (like glass clinking and cake cutting). She took her camera and took lots of pictures, and when her batteries ran down she stole my camera and took even more. I have a feeling her playing may include "wedding" for awhile to come. :) There was a bride/groom first dance, then a daddy/bride dance, and finally a mother/groom dance, and after awhile Tre looked around and asked somebody to come up there and dance with them. Out of 150 people there, the one that got up and went to dance with them? Yep. Kaylee. She cut in and danced with the three of them, then Tre bowed out and Kaylee finished the dance with the groom, whom she didn't even really know. Not a shy bone in that girl's body...
Was a nice evening out with friends, and Kaylee not only got to dress up and enjoy the wedding, but spend time with Maggie too. Win/Win. :)
