Whew!

It's been amazingly busy since last Friday and it isn't letting up for a few days here. While that's a little on the tiring side, it's also not a bad thing.

Did some cross-country ground time this morning for a couple of hours with a fellow, broke for a quick lunch, then tried to send him on a solo cross-country. Unfortunately the winds picked up, gusting to 18 knots, which is generally more than you send a student out in a cross-country, but it was right about down the runway, making it easier. He was eager to give flying a shot today, so I had him take me up and around the pattern to see how he handled the winds. He came in and made an almost perfect landing, so I had him go down the other runway, where he would have a direct crosswind gusting up to 18 knots. I told him if he could land in those winds safely and well, he could take his cross-country after all, because where he was going and where he was coming from both, the winds were close to down the runway, which is nowhere near as tough as what I was about to have him do. He proceeded to make the landing, right on the center line, straight, slow, and just about perfect. So...away he went on his trip. On his way home, some weather was popping up off to the west, but it was an hour or more away from him, but I still think it was a little nerve-wracking for him, and I paid attention myself.

Meanwhile I'd gotten the notice that I was taking a trip tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m., going to a southwestern corner of Tennessee, so before I left Kokomo I got the plane ready, did some quick checking and planning towards that before getting Kaylee from school, over to gymnastics, etc., then came home and printed off approaches, got a bag packed, got Kaylee's stuff ready for tomorrow since I won't be here, and spent two hours on homework Kaylee brought home from school today. She had a LOT of work she didn't get done in school today, but I was glad she brought it home because I could help her understand it better. I've got more things to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow's trip as well, and will have to hit the hay early so I can get up at 5:00 a.m.

I've also got to get the time to do some billing Soon here, as it's already May 3rd and I don't have the April stuff in the mail yet. I haven't had time, and won't for a few more days here probably. Onward and upward. :)
