Giddyup

This whole day just flew by.

It was Kaylee's first day back to school for the last ten days, and she actually did pretty well with the whole thing. She got ready quickly, got all A's on her work for today, and has been in a good mood too. Now we'll see how tomorrow morning goes. ;)

Steve and I went flying in the Chief this morning for about 45 minutes, then he got out and another Steve got in and I flew with him for about an hour too. We finished up, shut down, and my phone said "Muncie for lunch, wheels up at 11:30", which was right about...now. Chuck pulled out the Cheyenne and five of us got in to go over. Nathan let me fly it over and back, and it was kind of funny going from the 65 hp Chief that climbed out at about 200 feet per minute into the 2000 hp Cheyenne that climbed about 2000 feet per minute and comes in to land at a faster airspeed than the Chief can even fly at all. Just a bit of opposite ends of the spectrum, there. :) When we got to Muncie and left the plane at the shop, we realized the restaurant on field was closed Mondays, so we took a courtesy car into town and had soup and salad at Olive Garden while we waited instead.

I got home in time to pick Kaylee up at school, and she started harassing me immediately about taking her to the library, so that's what we did. She picked out three books, and she started reading one of them in the back seat of the car on the way home. Usually when she gets home she wants to play on the computer for awhile, but today she read for over an hour first, and made it almost halfway through a good-sized book. She likes to read when she lays down to go to sleep at night now too. What I found interesting was that I recognized and had read almost all the books in that section of the library. There are a few new additions like "Hannah Montana" and "Lizzy McGuire" books, but the section was full of Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and Judy Blume and "The Secret Garden" and "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and "Black Beauty" (which I wouldn't let her pick out) and all the classic kid books. Blast from the Past!

We were home for just a little while before I had to head out to a school board meeting and Kaylee had gymnastics. My meetings can last anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours, depending, but this month we were done and out of there in 45 minutes. That was amazing, and really a good thing, because it meant everything is running smoothly and there just isn't much to discuss. :)

Finally Monday night is here, and I have some work to finish up to top off the night...
