Eggcellent!

I was supposed to take the Decathlon and Mike (he's an IAC or International Aerobatic Club competition aerobatic pilot and instructor) and go up and work on some aerobatics today. I was looking forward to it, but unfortunately right about when I was supposed to go the clouds rolled in, the winds blew up and the rain started falling. Plans, Postponed. But no worries, I'll get to go throw myself around the sky another day. ;)

Instead, Kaylee and I dyed Easter Eggs. I did it a different way this year, using little plastic baggies and dyes and glitter instead of the cups where you soak the eggs, and I only did 8 eggs instead of the dozen or two we usually do, but they turned out very colorful and sparkly. :) There is also less drippy mess on the up side, and on the down side we're not able to take all the colors and do an exercise in pouring them down the sink and watching colors mix and turn into other colors. Even Easter can be educational that way you know! You can see the photos of our egg dyeing at the bottom of this page.

I made it out to the store since our house rations were down to scrounging for crackers and rationing TP. We're still not in full stocked mode, but it's a start. For dinner Kaylee helped me make the pizzas that we bought for her school fundraiser from Little Caesar's. She made one the way she wanted it and I made one the way I wanted it, and we made part of each of our pizzas the way Steve wants it. See, she just likes cheese. Steve likes pepperoni. And I like pepperoni with mushrooms, black olives and green olives. Since I didn't have most of that, I made half of mine with green olives and the other half with pineapple chunks. So I had the strange pizza. (Little Caesar's really does have good pizza by the way.) Making the pizza with Kaylee reminded me of making pizza with my mom growing up. We used to make the dough and everything, and make it up the way we liked it. Kaylee had fun making her pizza, but it would take a little longer if she liked something besides cheese! Maybe I'll do the homemade dough next time too-she'd like that. :)
