Torpid Thursday

The weather moved in this morning before I could get a flight in to Muncie with a student, so we did two hours of ground school instead. All morning I kept thinking it was Friday, which was fine because yesterday I kept thinking it was Thursday. The record in my brain apparently has a scratch on it...or for you youngsters today, the dvd in my brain apparently has a scratch and keeps skipping forward to the next scene. So I stuck around the airport, thinking lunch would be in an hour anyway, and by the time I remembered it was really only Thursday, I was too sleepy to leave and spent over half hour lying on the couch at the airport listening to the rain. We went to Harvey Hinklemeyer for lunch, and I was just finishing up my excellent BLT when I got a phone call from Kaylee's school: she's complaining of a headache, she's lethargic, and she needs to come home.

Aw, man.

I packed up and got her from school, and brought her home where she insisted on a hot soaking bath, saying she'd been cold all day. A little chicken soup and some Children's Motrin later, she was lying in her bed watching cartoons while I came back and laid down on my own couch. See, I'm 'lethargic' too. Sure enough I conked out on the couch, and woke up to find Kaylee crawling on top of me on the couch, curling into a little ball on top of me. She passed out, and I woke up at least an hour later with her still on top of me, feet up on the back of the couch, head down by my hip. It was an interesting position! I rearranged her to a more comfy spot next to me and promptly fell BACK asleep. It was weird-I got plenty of sleep last night, but felt like a zombie (ha) much of today. Kaylee ended up sleeping until 5 p.m.! She's still lying on the couch, and she's definitely not quite herself, poor thing. No fever, no nausea, fine appetite, just sleepy. We'll see. She may be up half the night after this long of a nap. So might I, for that matter.

What do you know, my diet could be perfect for my job. ;)

Shortly here I'm headed out to a Mom's Night Out with several other local ladies. We only do it a few times a year, usually in conjunction with someone's birthday, but it had been too long since we got out and about again. Seafood wet burrito anyone?
