Saturday

We brought breakfast out to the airport this morning, and had a nice group meal at the hangar then stayed for the day. It was cold and windy still, so we stayed indoors where it was warm and bright. :) The kids played in the hangars, usually staying in whichever one we were not in. At one point they had set up a "party" in the bathroom, with airplane tires on the floor as seats, flashlights pointed up for lighting, and bungee cords everywhere for decorations. Creative and festive, but a mess they had to clean up right away anyway. ;)

As we were getting ready to leave, a visitor walked into the hangar, said he'd heard a rumor that there was a P-51 on the field here and wanted to see if it was true. Of course, it IS true, so we gave him the tour, and he recognized both planes from Mt. Comfort and Oshkosh once he saw them. Found out he was someone whose name I recognized from WIX, a web forum for "Warbird Information Exchange". That was interesting, small world and all that!

We made it home right about at dark, and the rest of the evening is just the mundane relaxation of a Saturday evening at home. :)
