What a pretty day. It was the classic, perfect Fall day, with cool temps and warm bright colors. I started the day with a checkout flight in the Chief out at Kokomo, which lasted until almost noon. Steve was out in the Toga while I was out in the Chief. For once his airplane could have eaten my airplane for breakfast. ;)
I was actually out at the airport until it was time to pick up Kaylee from school, bring her back and do work at home before taking her to gymnastics, hitting the store, all that. I didn't get home until almost dark, but at least I got in some flight time, some paperwork, food back in the house, end of month bills out, and lots of other stuff done. I was itching to take out the T-6 on this beautiful evening to keep the rust away, but Steve was working and Kaylee had gymnastics and I didn't have time to do it before dark. Such is life!
Kaylee had "Show and Share" at school today and decided to bring her soft bear and blanket that she's had since she was a baby. I hesitated and asked if she was sure she wanted to take those to school as show and tell, wondering a little if some of the other kids might not make unkind comments about the worn and "young" items. She said she was sure that she wanted to, and said she didn't care if some of them thought it was silly. After school she said one girl had made derogatory comments about it, calling Kaylee's show & share "lame", and then Kaylee said "But she says that about everybody's stuff, and one of these days people are going to be mean back to her if she's not careful." Water off a duck's back-I'm so glad she's not as sensitive to that kind of thing as I was as a kid. :)
Tomorrow starts a little too early for me, but one must make hay while the sun shines...or at least while the rain is light enough to still go fly in hopefully...
