Solo

You've heard it said that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. That's why there was no post for yesterday. :) We were supposed to head out yesterday afternoon for the lake, but we waited until this morning to see if I would have a miraculous recovery. I woke up better than the day before, as in I could actually get OUT of bed, but I just didn't feel good enough to go on a trip, let alone a flight with the pressure on my sinuses. So Steve took the Saratoga and flew himself and Kaylee down to the lake and I sank back into the couch.

It was the right choice. After a leisurely morning, I slowly got ready and ventured out to drop off our airport billing in the mail and pick up some food since I had neither milk nor cokes nor much of any food at all in the house. I was halfway through the store run when I broke out into a sweat, got dizzy, and had trouble just checking myself out and getting home. (And I used a lysol wipe on the checkout kiosk buttons and cart handle I touched at the store by the way). Just being able to be out of bed for awhile is not enough of an improvement to be hauling around on a trip. To finish off this pity party, I woke up feeling like the right side of my face was packed with cement and my right eye has been all goopy all day. Yuck. Sinus infection now too? Maybe.

I got carded at the store today, buying generic brand Nyquil. Somebody had to come over and look at my ID and type in my birthday because apparently it has 10% alcohol in it and that now requires age verification. I can say that's the first time I had to show proof of age for Nyquil...

I was watching Kaylee and Steve on the computer as they flew to the lake, so I was a little surprised to get a text. It was from Kaylee, telling me they were in the airplane and she was bored. We texted back and forth several times while they were in the air, and it worked fine. I got one from her after they landed. She apparently commandeered Steve's phone, and she and I have texted back and forth almost all day. She let me know she caught and held a fish, what they had for dinner, all sorts of things. She filled up the memory on my phone with over 50 texts throughout the day, and it's been really funny chatting back and forth with her this way. I feel like I'm talking to a teenager, not an 8-year-old. Except her spelling is better than that of a teenager. ;) At one point I asked her if it was really her or if Steve was typing for her, and she said of course it was her. She even put a =roll eyes= in one message. She's a hoot! I've enjoyed talking to her this way today, even if I do need my old phone back if I'm going to be doing that much texting. This phone isn't so good for that. ;)

I swear, all that typing 'chat' on Disney Fairies has really done her well on the technology end of communication. I'll have to get her going better on typing emails out to people now. She can definitely do it now...
