09-09-09

Congratulations to Holly (Nathan's daughter) and her fiance Ryan on the birth of their daughter Leilani today!

Kaylee was excited because it was "Grandparent's Day" at school today. :) They got to bring her a hot lunch, play "bingo"-where she won a prize, eat together, she got to show them her room and desk and some of her work, and I think they all had fun. I put up pictures on her site under September.

Tonight was Kaylee's first night back to Awanas. She's in "T&T" this year, which goes from 3-5th grade. She was excited but a touch nervous about being the youngest in the new group and maybe not knowing anyone. But as soon as we walked in, she was hugged and squeezed by her former "Sparks" teachers, and as soon as she found her friend Riley, she was jump-up-and-down excited. She started off wanting to hold my hand and ended up barely saying goodbye when I went to leave, confidence back and intact; life as it should be. :)

Kaylee and I had been talking about the armor of God, and today in my email of "daily promises" was an email about the belt of truth in the armor of God. I read it to Kaylee who was a little amazed to read about that after we'd just been talking about it.

I was busy enough today running around and now can't hardly stay awake at 10 p.m. here. There was too much fog to fly this morning, and tomorrow doesn't look any better.

"Study without desire spoils the memory, and it retains nothing that it takes in."
~Leonardo Da Vinci

I can attest to the veracity of that quote, sadly. You can't make yourself be interested in something, either. *sigh*
