The baby shower went well; there were something like 60 people there, a TON of food and drinks, lots of gifts and cake too, oh, and a Pinata for the kiddos. It took a grown man to crack that thing open in the end though--they made that thing tough!
The kids played outside all day and had a great time, and the grown-ups stayed in the hangar
and tried to stay cool. After the sun went down, the temperatures dropped (of course) and it made for a lovely evening. Nathan took the T-6 up for awhile, and some of us went out to the runway. In the twilight you could really see the blue flame shooting out of the exhaust stack, and it was quite pretty. My pics are blurry thanks to the low light and no tripod, but you can see the flame on the right side anyway here.I took a lot of photos for the family, but I don't think I have the energy to go through them tonight. Kaylee caught fireflies at the end of the day, and then on the drive home we watched the Haynes fireworks display in town. We got home in time to watch the grand finale out in our yard, and Kaylee loved it. She kept saying "oh!" and sucking in her breath when one would go off.
It was a fun day with friends and family and friends/family to be. :)
