After lunch, where I made a pretty mess by knocking my full drink over onto the table at Subway, Steve, Nathan and I flew the RG over to Muncie. It's nice to have the guy who has been instructing the most out of it-my spouse-sitting right there next to me to help me do everything right. ;) Then Nathan let me fly the Cheyenne home from Muncie--he's such a nice guy sometimes, but don't tell him I said so. ;) A little air time is always good for the spirits. Well, mine anyway.
Kaylee was telling me all the reasons she had a good day today. She got to go to "centers" (where they go play when they get their work done), she didn't miss any recess at all for talking too much, and she had fun playing with her friends. I high fived her for it, then I said "I got to go fly airplanes today, so I had a good day too." She looked at me in an unimpressed fashion for a second (hey, you know most kids would be pretty stunned if their mom picked them up from school and told them that!), then shrugged and went with it and gave me a high five too. Then she said "So what was bad about your day?" I told her in general something I hadn't enjoyed about the day, and she said "Well, I used the wrong 'their' on a spelling test and I even KNEW it was supposed to be 'their' and not 'they're'. Argh! That's what was bad about my day."
On my way to taking her to gymnastics, I made a bank run, and "Bohemian Rhapsody" came on. Well, one time a long time ago, in a fit of strangeness, I re-enacted the "Wayne's World" car scene to that song to Kaylee. She thought I was pretty insane, and then decided she thought it was pretty funny. So since then it's a bit of a tradition, which is normally not really too much of a problem. Today, however, I'm probably glad I don't know what the bank tellers and customers inside were thinking as they watched our arms waving around, mouths open wide and singing, and eventually head banging and air drumming while waiting for our transaction to be completed. Not very mature at all, I'm afraid. If you want to know how strange we look-it's fairly similar to this, except we are much better dressed and have much neater hair. A much cooler car. And I'm an almost middle-aged slightly fluffy "soccer" mom who looks even more ridiculous. And Kaylee and I are both laughing the whole time. And I don't pick up strange people off the street. Other than that though...(please feel free to skip if you are unfamiliar and/or weren't a teenager in the 80s/90s, because I freely admit it is reeeeeally strange. I claim parental insanity for my defense...)

Aaaaaaaw. I LOVE that movie. I might have to dig it out and watch it with my husband.
What is this "middle-aged" you're talking about?
