Yesterday had one more positive thing about it-Chuck saved my helmet. When I flew Saturday, I noticed I could hear the radio, but I couldn't hear myself, and I found out after I landed that nobody could hear me transmit, either. A short in the wire. This was a particularly bad deal, because I haven't needed that helmet for 4 months, but now that I DO, I might have to ship it off to California, the place that took almost a year to get it to me in the first place, and have them fix or replace the wire, at who knows what cost and take who knows how long. Instead, Chuck and I went out to the Citabria where I wore it (since my head/helmet is too tiny for anybody else to wear it to test it) and he experimented until he found the source of the problem. Came inside, happened to have a soldering iron in the trunk of his car, another guy (Sam) happened to be there to help out, and together they fixed my helmet in just a couple of minutes. No charge, no shipping off, no down time. Saved my bacon for sure!
I spent the morning at the office entering time sheets, fuel sheets, pilot supplies being charged to accounts, payments made, etc. I finished up what we had there just in time for lunch, then ran a few errands and out to Kokomo (Airport) for another errand, then watched the boys work on the 172RG for a few minutes before it was time to get Kaylee from school and bring her home to get ready for ballet. While she's there, I'll probably be back at the office doing the rest of the end of month stuff for the airport, and tonight I have some studying to do for the weekend.
That's about it for today, just business as usual...

The heights of great men reached and kept,
Were not obtained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept
Were toiling upward in the night.
