We unwrapped gifts and then had a big brunch of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes (the ladies had chocolate chips baked into theirs, the right way ;)), toast, orange juice and milk. The boys retired to the deck, Kaylee retired to the living room with Grandma to go play, Mommy cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes, then came out here to put up the photos from this morning. :)It is a quiet, peaceful day. As Kaylee said, "Happy Birthday Jesus!" Last week she said "It doesn't matter if it's the real day or anything, it's just the day we use to celebrate his birthday, and that's okay!" Yes, it is. If you take away any meaning to the season beyond getting presents, it leaves it pretty hollow. Getting presents is fun, of course, but Kaylee has gotten to see how much fun it is to give, and she loves making people smile. Of course she didn't mind getting either-after all, she is seven. ;)
I believe the rest of our day is comprised of eating, resting, playing, hanging out, watching a movie or two, listening to music, and relaxing. We made home-made hot chocolate, cleaned up, played with Christmas goodies and families. Merry Christmas, everyone!
