I flew in three airplanes in a row today, all of which had at least 600 horsepower. Can't beat that! Ty and I flew in the Baron first thing this morning, doing the basics, and had a good time. We got back and Nathan had the idea to go to Greencastle for lunch. It ended up being him, Jim, myself and Chuck who could go, so Jim and Chuck took the Mustang and Nathan and I took the T-6. All the way over to Greencastle I took photos of the Mustang air to air. We arrived at lunch in formation, in a decidedly nice way to get to lunch. When we left, I rode back in the Mustang. Nathan and Chuck took off first, circling overhead, and when Jim and I took off, I looked off to the left to see the T-6 joining us. You just have to enjoy that view. I don't think I've ever sat through a takeoff in the Mustang without ending up in in a huge grin. Ever. The power starts off normal, goes to high, and just keeps on going into "holy cow and hang on" land. Anyway, I took some photos that I'll work on putting up another time.
We made it back in time for me to pick up Kaylee from school and take her to a dental appointment, which she handled like a champ. No cavities still, and she's not scared of the dentist or anything he does, thank goodness. :)
I ended up the evening taking Kaylee to Awanas while I went to Red Lobster with Chuck and Jim. I've been craving those cheese garlic biscuits for awhile--craving complete, thank you very much!
On the way to the dentist today, Kaylee said "if you miss recess you have to walk around the track the whole time instead!" I said "So you missed recess?" She got quiet then said "yes". I asked why, and she said "Because J kept talking to me and I kept telling him to shush but he kept talking to me!" I informed her that she got in trouble for her own talking, not his, and just to ignore him. She sighed and said "I try but I just can't do that". I didn't think they did the "kids miss recess" thing for talking, so I think that must be a recent change. In fact, just today I said they didn't do that. I lied without knowing it! But I'm glad that if they do pull recess, at least they have the kids get exercise anyway.
Well, sorry this is so choppy, but I'm wiped out, have been coughing a lot all day and it's finally worn me out. I had a great, fantastic, fun day, and I'm too tired and fuzzy to come up with a good way to say so. So just take my word for it: flying in the Baron for an hour and a half, then the T-6 for a long time, then the Mustang for awhile as well all certainly makes one have a special day whether I can be coherent enough to say so properly or not!
Here is the Mustang in the air today, flown by Jim Zazas with Chuck Rider in the back. :)
