Crispy Fried Friday

We woke up this morning to the gray skies and rain that we knew was coming, which cancelled my flight for the day. Well, actually I woke up this morning to Steve flipping on the light in the bedroom and asking me questions while I was asleep. I think the bedside lamp I threw at him only left a little bruise. No, I didn't do that, of course! (I was waaaay too sleepy to exert that much energy...) ;)

It was Fried Chicken Friday today at lunch. Even with the cold rain we had a good turn-out. Deviled eggs, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie. Can you beat that? :)

Steve left to go work on his Jeep wheels, and Kaylee and I left to go to Target. She did a great job not asking for every toy she saw...in fact, we were there for about an hour and it wasn't until the end that she asked for something small. I was impressed. Something tells me she isn't the only 7 year old who asks for everything she sees usually, so for her to see the Holy Grail of Shopping Toy Center and not ask, well, I was kind of proud of her for it. :)

While we were at the mall, I stopped in and got my eyebrows done and picked up hair stuff. When I left, Kaylee ran her fingers over my eyebrow and said "Why do you want to take away hair from there, anyway?" I told her that I just liked it better that way. I still owe my wicked friend Heather for getting me started on torturing myself in such a fashion.

Duane sent out this link about aviation carrier operations, and I have to say after watching this, I feel much better about my own landings; well, most of them anyway. ;) (Of course I haven't been trying to do them on a moving, rocking, dipping, swaying, postage-stamp sized piece of runway at 19 years of age after minimal training, either, but that's beside the point, right?)
