Into Each Life A Little Rain Must Fall

Back atcha, Steph. ;)

I woke up this morning for some reason with one of "those" headaches. I got out of bed at some undetermined hour of the morning and took some Tylenol and tried to go back to sleep on the couch to kick the headache, without much success. It took until well after noon to finally fade, and several hours after that before my stomach recovered too. You know, that pain bad enough that it makes you queasy? Urgh.

I finished my novel this afternoon, and studied a little bit of the T-6 manual. I need to do what I tell my students to do and "chair fly" some things over and over until they become something I don't have to think about while in the plane. That frees you up to focus on actual control vs procedures when you are in the real airplane. There are a couple of things I've done that were kind of dumb that I only did because I was too far behind, and there are a couple of things I do because I've done them that way for 5300 hours, and now there's a different way to do them and it's really hard to break the basic learned habit on a dime. It's been good for me.

Kaylee and Steve had a fun daddy/daughter day. They played Xbox, played the blues on the piano, spent a lot of time straightening up in her room, made breakfast together, and just had a mostly nice and fairly productive day. She gets so excited about those days that are just about them. She and I have our time alone together, and she really enjoys that, too. She just lights up at having a person's undivided attention for awhile. She's a lucky girl. :)

Ike has made himself known here in Indiana today. It rained pretty much non-stop today, and the winds gusted upwards of 50 mph at times. Not a good flying day, I'd say. ;) At least tomorrow looks better.

Well, to the sound of the rain in our gutters, the NFL down low on the TV, and music from Kaylee's room, I think I'll get ready for tomorrow. This is the crunch week before the BBQ Bash, and if you want to see some people running around like chickens with their heads cut off, stop on over at Glenndale!

To end...from Kim-I do remember that now that you posted it, but I had forgotten. No time like the present to be reminded, thank you. :)

"Life passes like a flash of lightening whose blaze barely lasts long enough to see. While the earth and the sky stand still forever, how swiftly changing time flies across man's face. O you who sit over your full cup and do not drink, tell me........for whom are you still waiting?"
~Hermann Hesse
