Closing Time

As I write this, Ike is aiming at Texas, and the newscasters are claiming that fuel prices could double or triple. Good thing I filled up yesterday when gas was $3.85 a gallon, apparently, because I'm trying to imagine $8.00-$12.00/gallon and it's not pretty. I told Steve I may have to pull out the motorcycle until things calm back down if that happens. Except when Kaylee is with me. My car just doesn't get great in-town gas mileage. Oh look, and there is Geraldo getting blown by wind and rain. How novel. *sigh* This hurricane certainly does look big and ugly, and I hope the people who live in its path are safely elsewhere.

When I picked Kaylee up from school today, I left a dvd on her car seat. When she got in and opened the dvd and saw that it was the new Barbie movie, she squealed so loud people outside the car heard her. I told her "Happy Friday!", and indeed it was. Her class had Wendy's hot food for lunch, she got to pick a prize out of the treasure box because she'd been good all week, her papers sent home for the week all look great, and she's just quite pleased. I rented the "Diamond Castle" or whatever it's called from Redbox, and at $1 per day, it's worth it to keep it for the weekend. :)

Steve's gotten a ton done towards the Bash, and I've gotten some done too. He's the heavy hitter on this event, always has been, and I think people would be amazed if they had any idea of what all went into this one weekend...

Well, I know there were things going on, but I've been sitting here staring at this for an hour, and I'm pooped, so I'll figure it out another day. ;)
