Camping No Longer

We cleaned out and packed up all of our stuff this morning, and headed out of Oshkosh. As we were all putting stuff away and packing, we all kept muttering "I'm not ready to go home." or "I don't want to go home." Kaylee was pouting and fairly bummed, and so were the rest of us. Nathan and Jamie took off in the Mustang, leaving most of their stuff behind in the bus, and were home in about an hour and some change, taunting us with text messages about pools and beverages at home. Chuck and Judy took off about an hour and some in front of us, and then we made it out. As we were driving away, we could see all the empty spots as the city started looking more like a field again. For some reason it seemed like a terribly long drive this time even though it was still only the required 6.5 hours. I was so tired I kept trying to sleep, but never did go out well. Kaylee watched movies the whole trip, and other than an oddly high number (for her) of bathroom stops, she did great. Here's to the power of Digital Entertainment. :)

We stopped at Glenndale first to ditch the trailer with the golf carts, then came on home and unloaded all that stuff out of the truck again. Piles and piles of bags. Urgh. I got a fair amount of stuff put away, dishes put away from the dish washer, and four loads of laundry done before I crashed on the 'putting away' thing. I have downloaded all 400 photos that I have, and have started editing them tonight. I probably won't get too far on them and I KNOW I won't get them up, because I need to get ready for a trip to Maine tomorrow. And because it's 9:30 pm and I'm tired and 400 photos is a lot to look at. ;)

As we got close to home, Kaylee started singing a little song that went "Dulce and Roadie and TV TV TV TV!" She was expressing her joy at seeing some of the things she'd missed this last week. ;) I threw her in the bathtub, and I'm half afraid to see what color the water is by the time we're done scrubbing...

My cellphone was sitting right here where I left it, and it was STILL ON. The battery was low, but it hadn't died yet. I had 48 new text messages and four new voicemails on it. It beeped the entire time we were gone, for what, nine days, and still hadn't died. I was kind of impressed.

Well, that's all I can think of off-hand. I need to finish up this laundry I've got going, scrub down the girl and get her in bed, check the weather to Maine (nobody better drink coffee in the morning because it's a 4 1/2 hour flight up there!), and get some sleep...

Back to reality!
