The Queen Is Home

It didn't look promising today-the weather was bringing in several rounds of storms. Tomorrow looked more promising up here, but down in Tennessee there was an 80% chance of storms, and that's not so good either. But a window of opportunity opened up this afternoon, and Steve didn't have to work, so we both jumped in the Baron and made it down to Tennessee. We were going to have to hurry up and head back out though, because more storms were coming in our path.

When Kaylee first saw us, she felt a little "funny" she said, and I don't think she knew quite how to process the hello and the goodbye. It was so good to see her! The flight home was mostly uneventful too. We had the iPod hooked up both directions and enjoyed some tunes while we watched the storms from somewhat of a distance.

At one point, Kaylee said "I missed you SO much!" I laughed and said "No you didn't, you had a great time and you didn't miss us much at all!" She paused and then said in all seriousness "Well, I did kind of miss you at night." Now that I believe. :) She did have a bit of an emotional time once she got home, for a little while. One area in which Kaylee really surprises me is her ability to know how she is feeling and even express how she is feeling. Not all the time, but she's really very good at talking about how she feels and working through it.

We snuggled on the couch for awhile and talked about life, and she headed to bed...something I am about to go do myself. :)
