This morning at 7:20 a.m., I heard a little noise by my bedside. When I cracked open my eyes, I found a round tray on the end table, with a glass filled with Diet Coke and a bowl of Cinnamon Life cereal ready to go, and a napkin. On the other side of the bed, Steve had a similar place setting. Kaylee had gotten up early and served us breakfast in bed for our anniversary. Now how sweet was that?? She didn't just put a can of Diet Coke on there either, she opened it (and hurt her finger, she let us know), and poured them into glasses for us. It was lovely, and I ate every bite of that cereal, in bed. :) She has such a generous and sweet heart.
Richard & Ann went to the cemetery today and cleaned up and decorated Devon & Sidney's gravestones, and Steve's two sets of grandparents' stones as well, for Memorial Day. I guess the Director of the cemetery was out there, and Richard got to tell her about them, and she was touched by their story.
This morning in the car, Kaylee asked a question, and I ended up changing what I was going to say mid-sentence, so what came out was "Grandma and Grandpa goes to that church." Kaylee pipes up from the back seat "Actually, Mom, it's 'Grandma and Grandpa GO to that church', not goes." Thank you, dear, I'm just glad YOU knew that. ;)
The majority of our anniversary day was spent with me in various airplanes doing various fun things. Kaylee and Jamie played together at Kokomo most of the day, and Steve had a flight and hung out at Kokomo too. It was a highly enjoyable, fun, exciting, thrilling day! Seriously. :)
Our 12th anniversary ended with me flying in the 172 with someone for a couple of hours at Glenndale, and then sitting out on a lawn chair on a lovely spring evening with a couple of friends, capped off by going to Olive Garden with Steve and Kaylee for our anniversary dinner. A memorable Memorial Weekend Anniversary Day for sure. :)
