Prep Day

Kaylee likes to play with her Barbies in the bathtub. Well, afterwards they stay damp for a long time, and that isn't good, so I got the brilliant idea to put them in the dryer. Today I learned that Barbie hair melts and goes wanky and fuzzy in the dryer. *sigh* She didn't freak out at all at their now funny-looking hair; in fact, I was more bothered than she was. Live and learn.

We spent today getting ready for our trip. Steve spent the day flying and working, and Kaylee and I ran errands, cleaned house, and packed. It's annoying to put an entire day's work into one sentence, but that pretty much covers it. Kaylee worked hard on her room and got it picked up, I did every load of laundry in the house along with dusting, vacuuming, watering plants, dishes, packing. Kaylee even dragged the trash out and got it in the big bin for me, without telling me she was going to.

I fixed mac & cheese for dinner and let her have a little friend come over to play for an hour or so. I still have packing to do, and we have to fit everything we need into a very small space. We are filling all the seats on the airplane, full fuel, and will have baggage for five people on board as well. Therefore we need to make it as SMALL baggage as possible. It would be best if we could put one of the children in the nose baggage compartment, but somehow I doubt that would go over well. ;)

Well, we leave very (too!) early tomorrow, and I won't have room for extras like computers, so I'll try to remember what we did and I'll talk to everybody on Thursday when we return! I'll leave you with a photo. Kaylee took this with my cellphone and wanted to send it to her dad today while he was out working hard. Who needs the top of our heads anyway, right?! :)
