Monday

Funny, I'm not sure what to say about today.

I have worked pretty hard these last two days, and have gotten my email inbox down from almost 200 to 54. (That is a LOT of doing stuff by the way.) Tomorrow I'll be able to knock a few more off of there. I've gotten quite a few checks sent out, equipment ordered, websites set up, questions answered, situations handled, and all manner of things Done. I may still have a lot to do, but at least I have progress, and progress is good.

We got a refund on our property taxes this year. You are always happy to get your own money back, aren't you?? Anyway, I took that to the bank today, and hit the post office. I was really amazed, I went past the post office twice today, and both times it was Packed Out. I mean, cars out in the road waiting to get in and a line out the door. Am I missing something? Tax day?? Does everybody need to stand in line for that? Anyway, it was a mess. Unfortunately I had a package. Fortunately it was left in a locker instead of me having to stand in that line, which is a good thing because all it ended up being was a free box of kitty food some company sent me. I'd have been Highly Bothered if I'd stood in line for 20 minutes or more just to pick up a sample box of kitty food I hadn't ordered in the first place.

It was the ballet/cheer run after school today for Kaylee. It was her first time back since before Spring Break, so she was happy to go. Her costumes are in finally for her upcoming recital, and I must admit they are pretty cute. The tap costume is black with neon colored polka dots, and the ballet costume is pale blue and frilly. She's pleased.

Kaylee tried to go to school today in a blue flowered dress, with blue pants underneath, yellow socks, red shoes, and blue and gray striped pullover shirt over top of the dress. She informed me that there was yellow and blue and gray in the dress so everything matched. I got her to wear a white nice blouse unbuttoned over the dress like a dress jacket, white socks and white dress shoes, and let her keep the blue pants under the dress because 1) they were solid blue and actually did match and 2) she's required to wear pants or shorts under her dresses at this school. Whew. Sometimes she has more fashion sense than I do, and other times she comes out with stuff that is...well, very colorful. :)

I got a picture back today taken of the kids in Kaylee's school all dressed in Colts gear. It's really a cute picture, and I'll scan it in and post it later.

Well, my flight helmet is in, I've already got the flight suit, and now my flight gloves are in too. Fire resistant, army green, go up to my forearms. I believe all I am missing now is the boots. All the gear seems excessive, and frankly I am not fond of getting trussed up, but there are safety factors involved in this type of aircraft and flying, which for the sake of Kim Neel and my mother I won't talk about ;), along with tradition, and I am just doing as I am told like a good little student. :)

Steve picked Kaylee up from cheer for me because I had a board meeting tonight. I have lots to say about it, but I doubt the world wide web is the place to do that. It's an interesting process, and there is SO much to do and figure out. We were there for two hours tonight and still didn't accomplish everything we needed to on the agenda. I am on a finance sub-committee, which is meeting next week as well. Busy busy.

That got me home for the first time since just after lunch at around 8:45 p.m. Long day for sure, I'm glad to be home finally. I had a few more things I wanted to do before bed tonight, but I do believe I will wait for tomorrow after all. *yawn*
