Freeze-Out

The temperatures went from 40 to 4. Fortunately for me, it's still 70 degrees in my house. It's another one of those days that look pretty, but you sure don't want to be out in it, with winds up around 40 mph and temps like these. Wind chills are supposed to be around 20 below zero tonight. And here I am in my t-shirt, thankful for my comfortable home!

I started laundry sometime after I woke up, and I'm still doing it now as the sun sets. For a family of three, we sure do have a lot of clothes!

Steve's been catching up on work, I've been catching up on house stuff, it's just a typical weekend day at home. We did end up watching a couple of movies while we were working. The Replacements and A Knight's Tale. Keanu Reeves is not the best actor in the world by any stretch, but you know, I always have liked the movie anyway. I like them both. The modern day music and humor with the Knight backdrop always did kind of crack me up, and how can you not at some level appreciate a movie where the poor lower-class guy beats the arrogant rich jerk and fulfills his dream of becoming a knight? :)

Kaylee has her little friend from next door over, and they're playing up front in Kaylee's World. I'm glad she has the option of a playmate today, since we haven't been as much fun this weekend.

Well, my "thanks" to Lysol for putting out another commercial designed to totally skeeve me out. It shows a mom in the bathroom pulling the shirt off her little boy in order to put him in the tub, but behind the shower curtain you see shadows of a bunch of monsters. When she pulls the curtain to look, there's nothing there, until they pan down to the floor of the tub where there is first a layer of soap scum which then turns into millions of germ monsters under your feet. Oh yeah, that is just what I needed for a visual. As if I didn't already have a problem with just that...

Did I already mention that Kaylee is now popping her fingers and ankles? I've tried to discourage it and stop her, but now she does it without even thinking about it. I grabbed her hands once, and told her she shouldn't do that, and she said "But it feels kind of...good." Aw, man. I see her stretch her ankles and hear them crack and she doesn't even know she's done it, and I know it's a lost cause. I know this, because I crack everything too. It is not a good habit. Although it feels pretty good to me too, to wake up in the morning and crack my back and neck. And fingers. And toes. And stuff. Poor kid.

Gotta finish off this last load of laundry and start in on some dinner, emails, paperwork, and other various things before Monday hits. Hope you all are having a good weekend!
