Sunday afternoons/evenings are often days we spend cleaning up, organizing, house or yard maintenance, that kind of stuff, and today was no exception. We had a *lot* to pick up and organize too, finding places for Kaylee's presents, stuff that had just gotten in disarray over the last few weeks. Steve organized the kitchen pantry too. We spent most of the day working on things, and now by the end of the day, things are looking good. Kaylee did a great job all day too. She went through and decided what she was going to give away, what she'd out-grown, etc., and put it all in one spot for us to box up and cart away, give away or throw away, depending. Looking around, I'm feeling rather satisfied. Now I need to catch up on my snail mail, my SMA Support stuff, and my email. But at least the house is mostly in order. :)
When we ate Chinese the other night, we grabbed a fortune cookie, which I didn't open until today. It said "Today you call all the shots." Why thank you for the permission. ;)
Last night I had two of the weirdest dreams, and I actually remember them both, which is also unusual these days. One is too...odd...to talk about, the other was about flying, but it was an odd one too. There were four people in a little underpowered airplane on a really short grass strip covered in a huge layer of thick, wet leaves, and we had to get off the ground, and I had to be the one to try to do it. In the rain, in the dark. I have no idea whether or not I was successful, or why I felt the need to try it (were we being chased by a group of gun-toting pirates or something?), but there was a definite feeling of urgency and tension and I woke up with all of us crammed in a little plane, rain hitting the roof/windshield, me adding full power and trying to see out the windshield, hoping to get up enough speed, and heart pounding. Weird. Then I went back to sleep and had an even weirder dream. I was actually glad to wake up for the day!
Cat has issued a challenge for us blogging ladies to play "book tag". The idea is to Share the 5th line of the 161st page of the book you're reading. So, here ya go, the books I am reading or just finished reading, 5th line, 161st page:
"Then, pestilent fever, malaria, and silt clogging its canals brought a decline, and its most vigorous citizens moved to central Venice." The Venetian Betrayal by Steve Berry
"I can do this, I thought." Duma Key by Stephen King
"...there was no mistaking the gleam of excitement in his eyes when he'd spotted what she had brought in her pocket. " The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen
Nothing too exciting there I'm afraid, but there it is. :)
While I was typing this, Kaylee just came out of her room, upset, because she'd had the same bad dream that she has almost every night, and she doesn't want to go back to sleep. I don't think she's actually asleep and dreaming, I think she's lying there trying to go to sleep and her mind goes to places that scare her. Regardless, I feel sorry for her, because I know what it's like to live with really bad nightmares every time you go to sleep, and even if it's been a long time for me, I haven't forgotten, and I know there's nothing anybody can really do about it for her.
Time to relax, have a snack from my newly organized pantry, and kick up my feet for awhile!

The line from The Venetian Betrayal has piqued my interest. :-) I'll look it up.
