For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a
tween is a child who is in between childhood and teenager. The definition says usually between ages 8 to 12, but I beg to differ. Kaylee is still officially six years old, but I'd like to show you the two posters she has chosen to hang on her door. One on the inside of her room, the other on the outside of her room. The poster she hung on the outside of her door is one that I used to have hanging up. A little known fact about me (other than by about everybody who reads this blog, that is), is that I always used to have posters of funny or inspirational or beautiful sayings all over. I had a big bulletin board I'd put them on when I was a kid in my room; I had them taped to the walls at Cedarville and at flight school. I just liked being reminded of important things before I'd get up in the morning or when I'd lay down at night. I'd saved several of my posters, Kaylee found them in the closet, and on going through them, she begged to keep one of them, the one goofy one, naturally.
But I think her poster choices define "tween" better than any words ever could. In between child and teen, indeed.
