Indian Hills

Last night we stayed out at Indian Hills until about 10 pm, then came home and threw the sleepy Kaylee in bed. We weren't too far behind. It was a nice evening, though a tad on the muggy and buggy side.

So this morning Steve got up and out of here while Kaylee and I slept in a bit. When we made it over there, it was really kind of a nice day for a little hanging out; not such a nice day for flying in. But it was MUCH cooler, and the bugs were way down. We sat around and chatted and snacked and drank. After awhile it started *pouring* rain, so we quickly put one of the planes back in the hangar and moved our chairs indoors. Both ends of the hangar were open, so we got to enjoy the view of the rain, and the sound of the rain, without being IN the rain. Worked for us. :) It has ended up being a drive-in breakfast/lunch/dinner instead of a fly-in, thanks to the clouds and rain, but it's been fine anyway. Most folks out here don't need a big excuse to get together and eat and stare at a grass runway. ;) Here are photos from Indian Hills 2006.

I took a few photos that I've put up. Here's one of Kaylee inside the hangar looking at the rain. I took a break to come home and feed the cats and let Kaylee relax at home for awhile, and then we'll head out for dinner hour in a few hours. I don't think a direct lightning strike could get the wood burning that's been sitting out in this downpour, so the annual huge bonfire is a bust I'm sure. Or maybe it's just another excuse to come back later when it dries out...
