Well, it didn't start out very thankful, but it finished that way. :)
I dropped Kaylee off, and then went out to Kokomo airport to run an errand. On my way out I decided to pick up TP and KittyMalt, but when I pulled into the store, I realized I'd left my purse at home. Argh. While I was at Kokomo, I figured I'd take the Baron into Glenndale to pick up Mitch to take him over to Sheridan to pick up the Decathlon. The winds were pretty stiff even that early, and only supposed to get worse, so I waited for an hour to hear back on whether or not we were going to go. Most of that time I spent sitting in my car listening to music, which was half soothing, but kind of boring, until I remembered that we have internet in Nathan's hangar. ;) Anyway, after an hour there, I got the call that the "mission" was scrubbed. I left Kokomo and headed home to pick up my purse, and while I was there I got Kaylee's enrollment form for swimming lessons. I drove to the "Beach", and there were a few people in line outside with a "Pool Closed" sign on the door. I wait 15 minutes sitting in my car again, and finally someone comes out. I say "I don't want to swim, I just want to turn in this form." She says "You'll have to wait until we open, honey." I say "When is that?" And she says "About 15 minutes." I do not want to waste the time I already spent there by leaving, but I also do not care to sit there for 15 more minutes then wait through the line that was now forming. So another "Argh" and I leave. I drive to the pet shop, and get Kitty Malt which is hopefully going to keep Dulcie and Roadie from throwing up. Side note: There was a big sign on the door of the pet shop, offering, and I quote, "Pet Massages". To help soothe and relax Fido. Every time I think about it, I shake my head. Pet massages?? Wow...
I left there and ran to the CVS to pick up the TP, since pet stores don't carry it. It was more expensive than the big store, but it was closer, and my time is worth something. Got sunscreen while I was at it. And I got a phone call from someone who needed me to let them in Nathan's hangar. I thought "Argh, why couldn't I have gotten that call while I was already Sitting out there for an hour doing nothing!" I set up the time to let him back in, and then went back to Kokomo beach, where I actually accomplished something! Kaylee is now registered for her first ever swim lessons. Their form asked if she was fearful or confident in water. I wanted to answer "It depends. Is it over her head or around her knees?" :) Anyway, she starts Monday. I'm kind of looking forward to that and I hope she does well. I've told her that she'll have a lot more opportunities to play in Nathan's pool if I don't have to get in the water With her. I'm not a big fan of swimming any more. I burn, I freckle. The sun is not my friend. Mostly though I'd like her to be able to get in and swim a bit (with supervision of course) and be confident.
After all that, I ran home and picked her up from 'day camp', and we immediately headed to Chuck E Cheese. She picked that over McDonald's PlayLand this time. We were there for over an hour, then had to leave to go let the gentleman and his son in the hangar. I told her we'd go back to Chuck E Cheese so she could finish off her tokens and pick a prize, which we did. We went home, and she threw on a gymnastics outfit, and off we headed to gymnastics. When we got home, she played in the sprinkler again for quite awhile, and then came in for dinner and to get ready for bed. She had a busy but good summer day!
I started off with nothing going right, and the verse Heather posted crossed my mind and made me smile. :)
Tonight I'm doing laundry and packing for our trip to Kentucky, the first of the season. Kaylee's excited about hitting the boat. That reminds me, I need to charge my camera battery...
I won't have computer access until we get back sometime Sunday, so I'll catch you guys later, hope you all have a good weekend!
