Ten Things (usually) Found in my Grocery Cart:
). Organic Milk. I've started getting it for Kaylee. She drinks so much milk, it's nice to have some without the hormones and antibiotics in it. It's a little bit liquid gold at those prices, but Steve and I still stick with the old unhealthy milk to balance it out a little. :)
). Bread. She eats it like it's going out of style. I try to get healthier versions most of the time-whole grains.
). Frozen...whatever. If it's frozen and a meal, I've probably bought it. Right now I have frozen crab cakes from Sam's Club in the freezer and I am quite looking forward to eating them. I can cook frozen things. They are already there ready to go and just need heated. I can do that. I can also cook...
). Boxed...whatever. You know, meals in a box. Potatoes Au Gratin, Rice, Hamburger Helper. If it comes in a box with directions and all the ingredients already pre-packaged and ready to go, I am SO there.
). The latest novel. I may be at a grocery store, but they sell books there too, and I always look for the latest releases, and often as not I end up with one. Or two.
). Cat Food. With two cats now, we go through the cat food even faster than before. Seems like I'm always buying cat litter or food.
). Cheese. We like cheese in this family. I melt some Provolone in a flour tortilla wrap for a snack sometimes. Yum.
). Diet Coke & Diet Mt. Dew. We go through a LOT of soft drinks. I like the Black Raspberry Vanilla Diet Coke, myself. Running out is grounds for an immediate emergency run to the store!
). Junk Food. Whether that be a candy bar, a donut, Edy's Double Churned Ice Cream, or something else bad for us, there is almost always something high fat, high calorie and high taste in my cart.
). Fruit. I usually pick out two fresh fruits for Kaylee for the week, and get some canned fruits for those days the fresh runs out or doesn't sound good. This week I got her a giant slice of watermelon and green grapes. She ate the watermelon in one sitting, and it was huge! :O Good thing it's mostly water. :)
