Wow.
That's all I have to say. And I'm not even the one doing the most work on this upcoming event. Steve and Chuck and several other people are just HOPPING right now. Non-stop, in fact. My part has been fairly small so far, and let me tell you about today.
Dropped Kaylee off at school. Hit the post office and mailed off some things and picked up our mail. Went to Glenndale's bank and got $500 worth of change for the BBQ; quarters, dollars, fives, tens and twenties. Made a deposit too. Went from there to the grocery store where I picked up things like toilet paper, considering our last roll was on the roller! Ran to the mall, picked up two things there. Went to Lowes to pick up four furnace filters for our house (and ended up getting the wrong ones so guess who gets to go back tomorrow). Went home, dropped off what I'd picked up so far, and called and asked Richard & Ann if they could pick up Kaylee today. Headed back out to Glenndale. We ate lunch, came back, and I hopped in Chuck's truck and drove to ADI to pick up our four huge boxes of t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and hats for the BBQ. Stopped at Sam's Club but didn't end up buying anything after all. Stopped at Staples and picked up four For Sale signs for airplanes and a bunch of AA batteries for walkie talkies for the event. Went back to Glenndale. Worked on three or four typed-up lists of people, volunteers, etc. for Rides, Golf Cart, Fuelers, that kind of thing. Went home, picked up Kaylee, tossed her in the car and headed to supper with Chuck, Judy and Maggie (and Steve). Got home, faced the mess in the house. Cleaned up the kitchen and living room. Created over 50 badges for the volunteers to wear at the event to show they are "official" in their capacity. Am printing them all out now-double sided, of course. Edited and printed out 50 copies of the itinerary for the event. Also caught up on most of my emails and one website. Tomorrow I have to cut out all the badges and get them in their holders, and fly with a reporter, and maybe pick up an airplane from Muncie, and I have no idea what else.
And like I said, I'M not the busy one in all this. Steve and Chuck are spinning. So, we're holding onto our hats until this thing gets going. Hope for warmer weather and calmer winds than today, please!!
