Our Flying Day

Yesterday (Wednesday) I wasn't here most of the day and then was too tired to write anything once I got home. I flew in the Baron in the morning with Chuck, and we did a full-feather engine failure practice. Shut 'er all the way down and fly around with one engine running and one engine at a dead stop. It looks unnatural but this plane anyway flies just fine that way. :) It was a beautiful flying day that morning. The winds were calm, the skies were blue, the visibility was great, the temps were nice and cool, it was very relaxing.

Then I went home for about an hour, messed around, and then Steve, Kaylee and myself all went up in the Baron again. Kaylee sat in the back seat while Steve and I flew and practiced some stuff. I feel badly in a way, because to Kaylee, flying is nothing special, something else she has to sit and be bored during. I doubt she'll ever feel the way I do about it, because she'll have grown up with it and it will seem perfectly normal and average to her. Anyway, after we flew, I took Kaylee and ran a few errands, then home for her rest. I got in about an hour and a half of work before it was time for her to get up, then we got ready again, and went to the grocery store, (Meijer actually), picked up new lampshades to replace the two in our living room that she had broken at different times, and groceries. Then we headed right back out to Kokomo Airport, and watched Steve and a guy named Ty fly a Bellanca for the first time in a year. It had been down for repair and an annual (maintenance), and this was the maiden flight in a year, and when I got there, there were already 5 other people waiting and watching at the hangar too. We had a mini party. :) By the time we left there, it was 7:30, and a couple of us went to Cracker Barrel for supper. Stayed and ate and talked until 10 pm! Finally got home, put away the (non-perishable) food, worked on some medical files, and crashed. :)
