The Wait...

Tonight I am on another wait-a death wait. A beautiful, smart, funny, sweet little girl is right now lying in her bed in her home, with her mommy and family there with her, her lungs filling with fluid and her time here on earth ending. She has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and she is tired. Soon she will be free, whole, running, and no longer bound by the constraints of this earth. But oh how her mother will hurt, and so many others. Her name is Kyleigh, and she loves princesses, loves dressing up in girly clothes, and would turn three years old in April. So great a loss should be heard round the world, but it never is. Most people never even know that right now a life is ending, a parent's world is shattered, and a little girl is fading from here only to shine brightly somewhere else. But *I* know. I know...Godspeed little Kyleigh. I know you, I care, I will remember...Edited to add that she has gone, at 9:42 p.m. Run, sweetheart...
